Vacuum conveying applications
Vacuum conveying of maize starch
|
Maize starch is frequently used in the food industry and is included in many different products as a binding agent, e.g. in the manufacture of crisps. In this example the lifting height is a critical factor, which means that a constant throughput is required. It was therefore decided to use two vacuum conveyors, referred to as a twin assembly, working alternately, i.e. one of the vacuum conveyors transports the material whilst the other one delivers it and vice versa.
Vacuum conveying of cappuccino powder
Cappuccino powder consists of ground coffee, sugar and powdered milk. Mixing of the ingredients into cappuccino powder takes place in a mixing container before the powder is packed in portion bags. A vacuum conveyor is used to move the three ingredients to the mixing container. Three separate containers with coffee, sugar and powdered milk are connected to the same pipe system where material transportation takes place. One ingredient at a time is transported within the system.
During the manufacture of tablets in the pharmaceutical industry, the tablets are manufactured and pressed at different locations. After the penicillin powder has dried in a drying oven, it is transported by means of a vacuum conveyor to a store room above the drying oven. The powder is then stored in stainless containers until it is time to press the penicillin tablets.
